Tigers Host South Dakota Mines Thursday in Search of Fourth Straight Win

Fort Hays State men's basketball looks for its fourth consecutive win on Thursday night (Jan. 22), hosting South Dakota School of Mines at 7:30 pm in the final non-conference game of the regular season. FHSU enters at 11-6 overall, while South Dakota Mines carries a record of 7-13 overall.

This game marks the third in a four-game homestand for the Tigers. The current three-game win streak has seen the Tigers push over the .500 mark in conference play, now at 5-4 after wins over Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State to open the homestand.

The Tigers have hosted South Dakota Mines each of the last two years at home. FHSU won last season 84-69 and won 85-60 in 2012-13.

Jeremy Wilson is coming off a career-high 17 points in the win over Northeastern State this past Saturday. He upped his scoring average to 7.7 points per game. Dom Samac is the only active Tiger averaging double figures in scoring at 10.1 points per game, but guards Royce Williams and Achoki Moikobu are just shy of double figures at 9.8 points per game each.

This game marks the 400th game of Mark Johnson's coaching career. He carries an overall record of 279-120 into the game.
