Fort Hays State men's basketball starts a two-game road swing in the state of Kansas on Wednesday at Emporia State University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm at White Auditorium. The Tigers are looking to move back over .500 in conference play, entering the game at 12-7 overall, 5-5 in the MIAA, while Emporia State is 9-10 overall, 2-8 in the MIAA.
Fort Hays State is coming off a tough 69-64 loss to Pittsburg State in Hays this past Saturday. The loss snapped a four-game win streak the Tigers were riding. FHSU slipped into a tie for eighth with Washburn in the MIAA standings with the loss.
Emporia State is coming off a five-game road swing in which it went 1-4, the only win coming in overtime at nationally ranked Central Missouri. The Hornets have dropped their last three contests, falling to Pittsburg State, Northeastern State, and Central Oklahoma.
Fort Hays State holds a six-game win streak against Emporia State, which dates back to the 2010-11 season. The Tigers have won the last three meetings in Emporia, although the first two of those three went to overtime. FHSU won in Emporia by six points last year. Five of the wins in the six game streak have been by seven points or less. FHSU holds a 96-81 advantage in the all-time series.

Royce Williams is now the top active scorer on the team at 10.7 points per game. He scored 18 points in each of Fort Hays State's two games last week, heating up behind the 3-point line to 40.2 percent for the season.
Achoki Moikobu continues to hold the top 3-point shooting percentage on the team (.470), while averaging 9.7 points per game.
