Fort Hays State men's basketball returns to MIAA play on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 5) when its hosts Emporia State. Game time is set for 4 pm at Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers are coming off their first loss of the season on Wednesday, now at 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the MIAA.
Fort Hays State continues its nine-game home stand to open the season. FHSU has a non-conference game and another MIAA game at home next week before finally playing on the road for the first time this year.
Emporia State enters the game at 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the MIAA. The Hornets defeated Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday night 79-68 in Kearney.
Dom Samac continues to lead the Tigers at 17.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Rob Davis is also averaging double figures in scoring at 16.0 points per game.
Craig Nicholson is the team leader in assists at 4.8 per game.
Brandon Hall leads the Hornets in scoring at 16.8 points per game, while Terrence Moore adds 13.5. Charles McKinney (11.4) and Joshua Oswald (10.7) also average double figures. Osawald leads the team in rebounding at 6.0 per game.
This is the only time FHSU and ESU will meet in the regular season this year.
