20th Ranked Tigers Host UC-Colorado Springs for Home Opener Monday

The 20th-ranked Fort Hays State men's soccer team gets to play on its home turf for the first time this season on Monday (Sept. 12) when it welcomes UC-Colorado Springs to town. The match is set for 5 pm.

The Tigers are 1-1-1 to start 2016, coming off of a big double-overtime win over Texas A&M-International on Thursday. The Mountain Lions are 1-0-1 to start the season and take on Newman Saturday (Sept. 10) before coming to Hays. UCCS is receiving votes in the first regular season release of national rankings.

Maurizio Costa leads the Tiger offense this year with a goal and two assists. Derick Gonzalez, Tobias Patino and Luis Torres have each chipped in with a goal.

The strength for UCCS is the defensive back line as they have yet to surrender a goal in 2016. On the other end, the Mountain Lions have found the back of the net just once this year, coming in a 1-0 win over Lubbock Christian to start the season.
