Tigers Suffer 1-0 Road Loss to RiverHawks in MIAA Play

The first stop on the Oklahoma road trip for the Tigers ended in a 1-0 loss to Northeastern State. Fort Hays State was held scoreless, and now drops to 8-4-3- overall and 5-2-1 in MIAA play. The RiverHawks are now 12-2 overall with a 6-2 mark in conference play.

It did not take long for the RiverHawks to get on the board as Mariah Nicolet captured her sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute of the match. Melissa Giles found Nicolet to put the RiverHawks up 1-0 over the Tigers. This would be the only goal of the match for either team as Northeastern State walked away with the win.

The Tigers and RiverHawks were even in the shot department as they both accounted for ten with Northeastern State hitting six near target and FHSU aiming five towards target. In the second half, Northeastern State outshot the Tigers 8-2 to maintain their lead.

Kristen Thompson took the loss in net for the Tigers as she captured five saves on the night. Thompson now has 36 saves in her senior campaign and owns a current record of 5-3-1.
Next up for the Tigers is another road match in the MIAA in Oklahoma as they match up with Central Oklahoma. The match is set to kick at 1 p.m.
