HAYS, Kan. - Late runs in each set helped 11th-ranked Central Oklahoma knock off the Fort Hays State volleyball team Friday night (Nov. 3), 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 19-25). The Tigers move to 10-20 overall and 2-13 in the MIAA, while the Bronchos are now 26-3 on the year and 13-2 in league play.

The visitors compiled a .274 hitting percentage on the night while holding FHSU to a .052 swing rate. The Bronchos were efficient at the net all evening, preventing the Tigers from getting anything going on offense. Central Oklahoma compiled nine blocks while picking up 67 digs, compared to seven blocks and 55 digs for the Tigers.

Magan Alexander picked up nine kills to lead the Tigers, with
Kylie Rollman adding eight. Rollman and
Tatum Bartels both recorded a match-high five blocks.
Taylor White had a team-best 17 digs with
Amirah Bentley leading the way with 23 assists.

The Tigers kept pace with UCO to start all three sets, leading by as many as two in the first two sets and three in the third frame. However, the balanced Bronchos found away to string points together at the midway point in each set to begin to pull away.

Fort Hays State will wrap up its home schedule tomorrow afternoon when Pittsburg State and Johnson & Wales come to town. The Tigers will play PSU at 1 p.m. before facing off with JWU at 5:30 p.m. The Gorillas and Wildcats will also play at 3:30 between their matches with FHSU. The Tigers will recognize the three seniors before the first match of the day.
