CoSIDA Academic All-America Team selection is based upon not only an athlete's accomplishments in the classroom, but also their impact as athletes each year. Jibowu was among the nation's top defensive backs this year, earning All-MIAA First Team and D2CCA All-Super Region 3 First Team honors.
Jibowu is the first CoSIDA Academic All-America selection for FHSU since the summer of 2016, when wrestler Jon Inman earned the distinction. Jibowu is Fort Hays State's first selection in football since 2014, when defensive lineman
Jesse Trent earned the honor for a third straight year. Overall, Jibowu is the 47th CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in Fort Hays State's history.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America team is voted on by sports information directors in NCAA Division II nationwide.
