HAYS, Kan. - On Monday (Dec. 11), the process of installing the new video/scoreboard at the north end of Lewis Field Stadium began with the removal of the old scoreboard. The new board will be massive compared to the old board, measuring at 63 feet wide and just over 36 feet tall. With a 10-foot tall base that will support the entire board, the finished board will stand over 45 feet high.

As of Saturday, December 16, the main structure of the new board is in place. Further work will continue on the board in the near future, which includes getting new electrical lines in place that will power the board, along with the programming of the new board.

This project is part of a continuing process of improvements planned at Lewis Field Stadium. This past summer, the installation of new chair back seating on the west side of Lewis Field Stadium occurred. Just over 2,000 new black folding seats replaced the old gold chair back seats and a majority of the bench seating previously in place, while stairwells widened and handrails were installed.
