The Fort Hays State men's soccer team heads to the state of Washington to take on a pair of teams for the second time in school history. On Thursday (Sept. 14) the Tigers take on Seattle Pacific beginning at 9 p.m. (central time), before heading to Western Washington on Saturday (Sept. 16) where kickoff is also set for 9 p.m. (central time).
The Tigers enter Thursday's matchup with the Falcons at 0-3-1 overall. FHSU has seen a slow start offensively in the first four games with just two goals.
Mauricio Etcheverry and
Derick Gonzalez have scored the only goals for the Tigers this season, while
Tobias Patino was credited with an assist.
On the defensive end, the Tigers are anchored by
Luis Torres,
Killian Gorman and
Dorian Hernandez who sit first, second and fourth on the team in minutes played respectively.
Seattle Pacific enters Thursday's match with an overall record of 3-1. Gabriel Weber leads the Falcons offense with seven points on the season (3 goals, 1 assist) and is efficient with his shots on goal percentage at 80 percent (4-of-5). They have started out strong defensively by only allowing six goals on the season in four games.
Western Washington enters Saturday's match with an overall record of 1-2-1. After two losses and a draw to start the year, the Vikings responded with a win over Metro State. Anthony Dean is the key offensive threat for WWU as he has scored three goals and two assists on the season.
