The Fort Hays State men's soccer team heads to Claremore, Okla. this week in search of its first win of the season. On Thursday (Sept. 7) the Tigers take on Rogers State beginning at 5 p.m., before facing off against sixth-ranked Midwestern State on Saturday (Sept. 9) where kickoff is set for noon.
The Tigers enter Thursday's matchup with the Hillcats at 0-1-1 overall. It was a slow start offensively for FHSU in its first week of competition as it scored one goal between the two matches.
Mauricio Etcheverry netted the lone goal last week and
Tobias Patino added an assist.
Rogers State enters Thursday's match with an overall record of 1-1. Noah Robson leads the Hillcats offense with three points, including one goal to his credit. Chris Moore scored the other goal for the Hillcats this year.
Midwestern State enters the weekend at a 2-0 clip to begin the season. Mustang Scott Doney should be the key focus of the Tiger defense entering this matchup, as he leads Midwestern State with three goals this season.
