NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Fort Hays State volleyball team came up on the losing end of a pair of matches Friday (Sept. 8) at the Cavalier Classic. The Tigers went down in four sets against Seton Hill before losing to tournament host Walsh University, 3-1. FHSU falls to 3-4 on the season, while SHU improved to 6-0 and WU is now 5-1 this year.

The Tigers wrap up the weekend Saturday (Sept. 9) against Pittsburgh-Johnstown at 8 a.m. (9 a.m. ET) and West Liberty at noon (1 p.m. ET).

Seton Hill 3, Fort Hays State 1
The Tigers opened the day with an early-morning match against Seton Hill. The Griffins took the match in four sets to remain undefeated for the season. Detailed stats were not immediately available for the contest.

Walsh 3, Fort Hays State 1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19)
Fort Hays State was unable to rebound in the afternoon session, falling to Walsh in four sets. The Tigers captured the first set, but the Cavaliers rallied to steal the next three frames to win the match.

Magan Alexander all tallied 10 kills to lead the way for FHSU.
Tatum Bartels recorded seven blocks (one solo) and six kills in the loss.
Taylor White paced the team with 16 assists while
Amirah Bentley tossed up 34 assists in the match.

The Tigers held a slight edge in the attack percentage category (.197 to .191). FHSU dominated at the net, totaling 10 team blocks to Walsh's six team blocks. The Cavaliers ran away with the match thanks to 10 service aces.
