Fort Hays State closes out the regular season on Thursday night (Feb. 22) at home against Southwest Baptist. It will be Senior Night at Gross Memorial Coliseum as Hadley Gillum will be honored before the game. The game is set to begin at 7:30 pm. FHSU enters at 16-11 overall, 9-9 in the MIAA, while SBU is 12-14 overall, 6-11 in the MIAA.

The Tigers are coming off a tough 65-62 loss at Nebraska-Kearney on Tuesday evening. The game never saw a lead of more than six points. FHSU is now trying to lock up an MIAA Tournament first round home game. Mathematically, the Tigers can finish anywhere between fifth and ninth in the MIAA standings, but seeding for the conference tournament will be determined by several games around the conference Thursday and Saturday.

The Tigers are looking to even the season series with the Bearcats after falling in Bolivar earlier this year by five points in overtime. FHSU holds a slight 11-10 advantage in the all-time series.

Gillum reached the 1,000-point mark in his career at FHSU on Tuesday night in Kearney. With 15 points in the game, he now has 1,014 for his career. He became the 20th player in program history to reach the mark. He leads the Tigers at 16.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Brady Werth has been steady offensively since coming back from illness, scoring in double figures all seven games since missing four in the latter part of January. Going back prior to the four-game absence, he scored in double figures two games in a row, so overall he has reached double figures in nine straight games. He ranks second on the team in scoring at 12.3 points per game.

Marcus Cooper produced his second double-double of the season on Tuesday night in Kearney with 13 points and 12 rebounds. He is the second-leading rebounder on the team at 4.9 per game.

This is Southwest Baptist's first game of the week before playing at Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. Logan Hovey leads the Bearcats averaging 19.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
