AUSTIN, Texas - CoSIDA named Fort Hays State Men's Soccer junior
Moritz Walther to its Academic All-America Team on Wednesday (Dec. 4) as a third-team selection. Walther is one of 12 defenders nationally in NCAA Division II to receive the honor. Sports Information and Athletic Communication professionals nationwide vote on the Academic All-America Team, which reflects both academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.

Walther owns a 3.88 grade point average as a Health and Human Performance major at FHSU. He was a recipient of the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award last year, which goes to individuals that receive all-conference accolades and have at least a 3.5 GPA. This year, he received the GAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Award for competing in the conference championship and having a 3.7 or higher GPA.

On the field, Walther is a two-time all-conference and all-region selection. He has 26 points in his career so far with 8 goals and 10 assists, while providing three game-winning goals.
