FHSU Men's Soccer will face Newman University in back-to-back matches this week. The Tigers first travel to Wichita on Thursday (Oct. 14) for a 7 pm kickoff, then will turn around and host the Jets in Hays on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 3 pm.

The Tigers are currently 6-4-1 (3-2 GAC) after taking a 1-0 loss to No. 20 Southern Nazarene in the final minutes of the match. Blake Arndt leads the Tigers in scoring with five goals on the season and goalkeeper Kieran Brown has 46 saves so far. The Tigers have outscored opponents 19-11 this season, while averaging just under 14 shots per game.

The Jets are 0-9-1 (0-4-1 GAC) so far this season. They lost 1-0 to Northeastern State last Saturday. Newman has been outscored by opponents 26-8 while averaging only 6 shots per game. They allow over 18 shots per match to opponents.

The Tigers are 5-1 all-time against the Jets with the only loss coming in 2019 in Wichita. The Tigers have outscored the Jets 16-3 in this series history while averaging just under three goals in each match.
