The FHSU Men's Soccer team wraps up their regular season at home this week when they host Northeastern State on Thursday (Nov. 4) at 7 pm, and conclude the week with Southern Nazarene on Saturday (Nov. 6) for Senior Day at 1 pm. The Tigers currently sit atop the GAC standings and look to clinch their fourth conference regular season title in the last five years and hosting rights for the four-team GAC Tournament the following week. Fort Hays State (7-2-1 GAC), Rogers State (7-3-1 GAC), Southern Nazarene (7-3 GAC) and Northeastern State (6-4 GAC) have all clinched a spot in the GAC Tournament, but play this week will determine the seeding and a conference regular season champion among the group.
The Tigers, 10-4-2 overall, are fresh off a pair of shutout wins over Ouachita Baptist and Harding in Arkansas last week. Blake Arndt and Taisei Arima each netted two goals over the weekend and Kieran Brown added eight saves bringing his season total to 60. Arndt and Arima lead the team in scoring with eight and seven goals respectively.
Northeastern State, 8-8 overall, dropped their last match 4-2 to Rogers State. The RiverHawks are allowing just over ten shots per match and have compiled 52 saves. The Tigers lead the all-time series 12-9-5 after winning 1-0 in Tahlequah earlier this season. FHSU is 8-2-2 against NSU at home.
Southern Nazarene, 10-6 overall, is fresh off of a 1-0 win over Rogers State. The Crimson Storm have outscored opponents 26-20 this season and are averaging almost 17 shots per match. FHSU leads the all-time series 10-3 with the last match ending in a 1-0 defeat in Bethany, Oklahoma earlier this season. The Tigers are 5-0 against SNU at home. FHSU senior recognition will begin before the match on Saturday.
