Women's Basketball Maintains Top-5 Ranking in Coaches Poll

LILBURN, Ga. - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team is once again ranked fifth in this week's WBCA Division II Coaches Poll, released Monday (March 1) by the organization. The Tigers wrapped up the regular season as MIAA champions with a 20-2 record, the most wins by a Division II women's basketball team this season.

The Tigers are one of three conference schools listed in this week's top 25, joined by Nebraska-Kearney in 14th and Central Missouri in 15th. Minnesota Duluth is the only other ranked team from the central region, with the Bulldogs sitting in eighth this week.

FHSU is now 13-3 when playing as the fifth-ranked team in the country all-time after a 2-0 week last week.

Fort Hays State will open posteseason play on Wednesday (March 3) when they host Missouri Southern in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 MIAA Championship Tournament, presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. First tip is slated for 6 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.
