The 15th-ranked FHSU Men's Soccer team will host two GAC matches for their first home action since September 5 this week in Hays. The Tigers face off with Ouachita Baptist on Thursday (Sept. 30) with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 pm, then will turn around on Saturday (Oct. 2) to take on Harding at 1 pm.
The Tigers, 4-2-1 overall (1-0 GAC), are fresh off of a 3-1 win at Rogers State last week in the conference opener as Blake Arndt scored two goals in a match for the second time this season. Arndt leads the Tigers with four goals and the Tigers are outscoring opponents 10-7 so far this season. The Tiger defense has allowed one goal or less in six of their seven matches this season, while keeper Kieran Brown has 33 saves so far this season.
Ouachita Baptist is currently 0-5-1 overall (0-2 GAC). They were shut out in their last match with Northeastern State by a score of 2-0. Harding is 0-4 overall (0-2 GAC) and were shutout in their last match with Southern Nazarene by a score of 1-0.
The Tigers are 2-0-1 all-time against Ouachita Baptist with the last matchup ending 3-0 in favor of FHSU during the 2021 spring season in Claremore, Okla. FHSU has won all 10 meetings with Harding since 2012.
