Fort Hays State Men's Soccer will start the week at home hosting No. 19 ranked Southern Nazarene on Thursday (Oct. 20) at 7 p.m. before traveling to Tahlequah, Okla. to take on Northeastern State on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 1 p.m.
The Tigers (7-4-4, 5-2-2 GAC/MIAA) suffered a 3-1 loss at Harding in their last match. FHSU has lost two of their last three matches after making it through the first half of GAC/MIAA play unbeaten. The Tigers have outscored opponents 27-17 on the season, while averaging 13 shots per match. Blake Arndt continues to lead the team in scoring with six goals, followed by Callum Frogson with five. Inigo Jimenez leads the team and the conference with seven assists. Kieran Brown ranks second in the GAC/MIAA in save percentage (.785) and has 42 saves on the year.
Southern Nazarene (7-4-3, 5-1-2 GAC) defeated Rogers State 2-0 in its most recent match. The Crimson Storm has outscored opponents 30-19 so far this season, while averaging 16 shots per match. FHSU leads in the all-time series 11-4 after defeating SNU 3-1 in Bethany earlier this season. The last time the teams met in Hays, the Crimson Storm came away with a 1-0 victory to claim the GAC regular season title in 2021.
Northeastern State (7-4-2, 4-3-1 GAC) fell 2-1 to Rogers State in its last match. The RiverHawks have outscored opponents 35-12, while averaging 18 shots per match. Fort Hays State leads the all-time series 15-9-5 after defeating Northeastern State 2-1 in Hays earlier this season. The last time the teams met in Tahlequah, the Tigers defeated the RiverHawks 1-0 with a goal scored in the final two minutes of the match during the 2021 season.
