Fort Hays State Football plays host to Central Missouri on Saturday (Oct. 22) at Lewis Field Stadium in Hays. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The Tigers enter at 1-6 on the season, while the Mules are 2-5.
 
Fort Hays State won last year's meeting with Central Missouri in Warrensburg by a score of 21-17. The Tigers scored a touchdown with 26 seconds remaining in the game to get past the Mules. Fort Hays State has won five of the last seven meetings in the series with UCM, including the last three meetings in Hays.
 
The Tigers have broke the 30-point barrier only once this season, occurring in their 51-14 win over Lincoln in Week 3. FHSU has scored at least 14, but no more than 24 in their other six contests.
 
Central Missouri claimed its two wins this season against Northeastern State and Missouri Southern. The Mules scored a season-high 35 points in their win over NSU. They are coming off a 20-17 win last week over Missouri Southern in Warrensburg.
 
Offensively, Fort Hays State averages 372.4 yards per game, while Central Missouri averages 341.1 yards per game. The Tigers average 257.7 passing yards per game, compared to 226.1 for the Mules. UCM has a very slight edge in rushing offense, 115 yards per game compared to 114.7 for FHSU.
 
FHSU quarterback Jack Dawson has thrown for 1,110 yards this season with eight touchdowns. He also has four rushing touchdowns. Adrian Soto leads the Tiger rushing attack at 57.9 yards per game, while Manny Ramsey is the top Tiger receiver at 79.7 yards per game. Ramsey ranks second in the MIAA in receiving yards per game. Ramsey needs just one more 100-yard receiving game to match Lance Schwindt's school record of 10, and he ranks third in career receiving yards at FHSU with 2,432 behind Schwindt and Layne Bieberle.
 
Defensively, Makel Williams continues to lead FHSU with 50 tackles for the season. Mason Perez is second at 40 tackles, despite missing one game. Jeremiah Jackson-Trotter leads the Tigers in sacks (5.5) and tackles for loss (8.5). Myles Menges leads the team in pass breakups with four, while six different Tigers have interceptions this year, which includes Williams, Perez, and Jackson-Trotter.
