EDMOND, Okla. –
Maria Paz Diaz and
Fiorella Mendez each picked up wins at the ITA Fall Central Regional over the weekend (Sept. 23-25). Both won one match on the consolation side of singles play in the event.

Mendez defeated Olivia Flood of Nebraska-Kearney in her first consolation contest by scores of 4-2 and 5-3 after falling in the opening round of the B singles draw. Paz Diaz also took her first match contested in the consolation B bracket, knocking off Taylor Hansard of Ouachita Baptist. Both went 1-2 in singles play for the weekend.

Irina Alfonso,
Stefany Stemmer, and
Grace Unruh all competed in the event as well, going 0-2 in singles play. The doubles teams of Paz Diaz/Alfonso and Unruh/Stemmer each lost one doubles match as well.

The Tigers are back at home on Wednesday (Sept. 28) for a scrimmage with Barton (Kan.) Community College.
