Tigers Place Eighth at MIAA Championship, Rader and Krob Finish in Top 25

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Fort Hays State Men's Golf finished off its 2022-23 season by finishing eight at the MIAA Championship, held at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club April 17-19. The course for the tournament was a par-72 layout with a total yardage of 6,938 yards. Jackson Rader and Parker Krob each finished among the top 25.
 
Rader recorded his second top 25 finish at the MIAA Championships this week, finishing in a tie for 22nd. Rader led the entire field in par-5 scoring, shooting 7-under on par 5 holes throughout the tournament. Rader also finished in seventh for most birdies with 10 total. The sophomore shot rounds of 76, 77, and 75
 
Krob ended the conference tournament in a tie for 24th, just one stroke back of Rader. Krob's 13-over par served to be eight strokes better than his performance at last year's MIAA Championship. He recorded six birdies in total, two in each of the three rounds. Krob shot his best during the first round with a score of 75, followed by two 77's to finish the competition.
 
Bryce Cowan shot a team-best round score during his second round with a 74. Cowan shot an 81 in the first round and a 78 in the final round for a total of 233. The senior finished in 35th place. Tanner Copeland turned in a 46th place finish (+26, 242). He carded six birdies over his three rounds. Dustin Nichols finished one slot behind Copeland in 47th. Nichols shot his best round on the opening day of the tournament with a 79. He finished at 27-over par, with a total of 243.
 
For the second straight year Central Missouri has walked away with an individual title after Alex Gentry clinched the tournament's top spot shooting 4-under par overall. Gentry shot rounds of 70, 72, and 70 for a total of 212. The Mule finished two strokes ahead of Tradgon McCrae of Missouri Southern.
 
The Tigers finished ahead of Newman by a total 12 strokes and ahead of Lincoln by 14 strokes. Fort Hays State moved up one spot as a team on the leaderboard throughout duration of the tournament. The Tigers finished round one in ninth but climb and remained in eighth after the second and third rounds.
