Tigers Triumphant in Searcy

SEARCY, Ark. - The Fort Hays State Tigers roared to victory on Saturday (Sept. 30) morning at the Stevens Soccer Complex, securing a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over the Harding Bisons.

In this pivotal encounter, Fort Hays State (3-5-1, 2-1-1) and Harding (3-6-1, 1-3-0) battled fiercely from the opening whistle. The Tigers' control of the match was evident from the very beginning. With precision and flair, they orchestrated their attacks, creating numerous opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net.

The defining moment came in the 74th minute when Anders Sandsto showcased his scoring prowess. Elias Ovelar Semeniuk, delivered an exquisite cross from the right flank. Sandsto unleashed a left-footed strike that found the lower left corner of the net. This goal provided the Tigers with a lead they would not relinquish.

Scott Pengelly had his first start in goal of the season and saved two Harding shots on the day. The Tigers' offense outshone their opponents, recording 21 shots compared to Harding's 12.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will carry the momentum from this victory into their next battle. The Tigers face Northeastern State next Saturday (Oct. 7) in Tahlequah, Okla.
