The FHSU Tigers head to Kansas City this week as they face the #10 Maryville Saints this Thursday (Sept. 7) at 2 p.m. and then move further east in KC to face off against the Rockhurst Hawks Sunday (Sept. 10) at 3 p.m. 

Fort Hays State (1-1-0) fell short against UC-Colorado Springs, 2-3, in their most recent match and are hoping to bounce back this week. The Tiger offense has been led by Alex Plimmer and Blake Arndt, who both have scored two goals each already on the season. 

The #10 Maryville Saints finished the 2022 season 12-5-5 overall, and 8-1-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The Saints were able to make it to win the GLVC Tournament and made it all the way to the NCAA Quarterfinals last year. Maryville was able to get off 15.14 shots per match, and put 5.77 of them on goal last year. They also led the GLVC in assists with 39 on the season and 1.77 a match. The Saints have two players with four shots on goal this season, tied for the top in the GLVC. The Tigers are 0-1-1 against the Saints all time and tied in double overtime last match. 

The Rockhurst Hawks finished 7-4-5 overall, and 6-3-3 in the GLVC last season. The Hawks averaged 1.5 goals per match on 10.81 shots. The Hawks Jacopo Belardo also has four shots on goal and a goal to go along with it. The series history against the Hawks is 3-2-3 with the last match ending in a tie and the previous three matches ending in a Tiger victory. Rockhurst has a week between games so they will be well rested for the kick-off this Sunday (Sept. 10) at 3 p.m.
