The No. 22-ranked Fort Hays State Tigers (2-0-0) travel to Kansas City on Thursday night (Sept. 12) for a single match against the Maryville Saints (0-1-1) on Thursday (Sept.12) at 8 p.m. This will be the Tigers' second consecutive game at Children's Mercy Victory Field in Swope Soccer Village.
In its season opener, Fort Hays State outshot Rockhurst 16-6, securing a late victory with 
Ibrahim Madad's goal in the 88th minute. In the last match, 
Fabian Gylden Svensson scored within the first 30 seconds and the Tiger defense held strong, keeping Upper Iowa scoreless for the remainder of the match. The Tigers outshot the Peacocks 21-9.

Ibrahim Madad were named GAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for their outstanding performances last week. The Tigers allowed only one shot on goal in Sunday's match against Upper Iowa. The Tigers are limiting opponents to just 7.5 shots per match and only two shots on goal allowed for the season.
Maryville concluded the 2023 season with a 12-4-6 overall record, going 7-2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). They have reached the NCAA Quarterfinals in each of the past two seasons. So far this year, the Saints are averaging 13.0 shots per match and have scored two goals. The Tigers are 0-2-1 all-time against the Saints, with their most recent loss last season in Overland Park, Kansas.
Next week, the Tigers will head to Wichita Falls, Texas, for two matches. The first will be against Midwestern State on Thursday (Sept. 19) at 7:00 p.m., followed by a match with Eastern New Mexico on Saturday (Sept. 21) at 12:00 p.m.
