The eighth-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team looks to extend its winning streak to five games Saturday (Feb. 1) when the Tigers travel to Warrensburg, Mo. to take on Central Missouri. First tip is slated for 1 p.m. from the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
 
Fort Hays State improved to 17-2 overall and 8-2 in league action with a 38-point road win over Washburn on Thursday (Jan. 30), while Central Missouri moved to 13-9 on the year and 5-6 in MIAA play with a home win over Nebraska-Kearney, 62-54.
 
With UNK's loss, the Tigers are now tied with the Lopers for second in the MIAA standings just past the halfway point of conference play. FHSU and UNK are both two games behind Pittsburg State, who remain undefeated in MIAA contests at 18-2 overall and 10-0 against conference opponents.

Fort Hays State cruised past the Jennies earlier this season in Hays (12/5/24), winning 74-44 with five Tigers scoring in double figures. A win Saturday would give the Tigers two regular season wins over UCM for just the third time in series history (2015-16 and 2021-22).
 
The Tigers enter Saturday's contest with an all-time record of 999-522 in 56 seasons of women's basketball at Fort Hays State. A win over the Jennies would make FHSU just the 12th active school in Division II to reach 1,000 all-time wins.
 
Katie Wagner DeGarmo became the school record holder in career rebounds on Thursday, bringing her five-year total to 1,110 boards. She is second in team history with 2,025 career points while ranking fourth in points and second in rebounds amongst active players in Division II.
 
The Tigers rank in the top 10 in Division II in numerous statistical categories, including assist/turnover ratio (1.36, second), assists per game (18.8, third), field goal percentage defense (34.1, fifth), field goal percentage (45.9, seventh), scoring margin (plus-19.2, eighth) and defensive rebounds per game (19.2, eighth).
 
Kate Dilsaver has scored in double figures 10 times this season after doing so just nine times in her first three seasons as a Tiger.
 
Brooke Loewe continues to pace the MIAA in assists, averaging 7.2 per contest to rank third in Division II. Her current average would smash the current school single season record of 6.0 assists per game (Jaden Hobbs, 2020-21).
 
Fort Hays State now has three of the top 11 scorers in the MIAA, including Olivia Hollenbeck (16.5 ppg, fourth), DeGarmo (15.4 ppg, sixth) and Talexa Weeter (14.4 ppg, 11th).
 
Hollenbeck ranks fourth in the country with a shooting percentage of 62.6 percent, close to the school's single season record of 63.0 percent set by Annette Wiles in 1989-90. The graduate student moved into a tie for 10th in career steals at FHSU, now with 181 over the last five seasons.
 
15 of FHSU's 17 wins have been double-figure victories, including 10 by 20 or more points, while both of the Tigers' losses have been by just one point.
 
Central Missouri leads the all-time series, including a 13-5 advantage in games played in Warrensburg. The Tigers have won each of the last two meetings after losing five in a row. The Jennies have won two in a row at home against FHSU, with the last Tiger win coming in February 2022. Fort Hays State is 2-2 against Central Missouri during the Talia Kahrs era, including an 0-1 mark on the road. The Tigers are 15-15 against the Jennies in regular season MIAA contests.
 
Central Missouri is 13-9 overall and 5-6 in league play, including an 8-3 record at home and a 5-6 mark outside Warrensburg. UCM has won four of its last five after losing three in a row to start 2025. The Jennies turn the ball over just 12.5 times per contest, sixth-fewest in Division II. They attempt just 15.5 3-pointers per contest, fewest in the conference. Reese Schaaf leads the MIAA and ranks fifth in DII with 11 double-doubles this season. Schaaf leads the MIAA in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.

Looking ahead, The Tigers will return home for the first time in nearly three weeks when they host Northeastern State on Thursday (Feb. 6) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
