The Fort Hays State men's soccer team, ranked No. 6 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25, is set to host Newman (5-2-4 overall, 2-1-2 GAC) on Thursday (Oct. 16th) at 7 p.m. On Saturday (Oct. 18) the Tigers travel to Tahlequah, Oklahoma to take on long-time rival Northeastern state (6-3-2 overall, 3-2-0 GAC) at 1 p.m. The Tigers sit at 9-0-2 overall and 5-0-0 in GAC play.

Fort Hays State Men's Soccer chose Thursday night's game to do senior recognition. Eleven members of the team will be honored about 20 minutes prior to the start of the match.
 
Fort Hays State climbed one spot in the latest national rankings following their shutout wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist. The Tigers continue to show their dominance both offensively and defensively. Fort Hays State is ranked second nationally in scoring offense at 3.09 goals per match. The Tigers only allow 0.364 goals per match, which ranks third nationally.
 
The Tigers are making waves nationally in several other categories as well. They are the national leaders in assists per match (3.18), corner kicks per match (8.64), goal differential (+30), total assists (35), and total points (103). The Tigers rank second nationally in shots per game (19.2), shutout percentage (.727), and total goals (34).
 
The Tigers swept all three GAC Player of the Week honors, announced on Tuesday (Oct. 14). Juan Linares earned Offensive Player of the Week, scoring two goals. Oliver Wright earned Defensively Player of the Week with three goals, while playing the most minutes of any defender on the team in a pair of shutouts. Payton Roehrich secured Goalkeeper of the Week after his shutout victories over the weekend. Roehrich has claimed six individual shutouts and two combined shutouts throughout the season so far.
 
Elias Ovelar Semeniuk has 10 goals on the season, which has him tied for the national lead with five other players. He ranks second nationally in points with 23, trailing the national lead by just one. Payton Roehrich ranks second nationally for individual shutouts (6) and goals against average (.309).
 
Newman is coming off a win against Ouachita Baptist and a draw with Harding. The Jets are currently led by Gabriel Juliani Dias with seven goals to go along with three assists. Newman averages 12 shots per match, while scoring two goals per match.
 
Northeastern State is coming off a win against Southern Nazarene. The Riverhawks average 11.7 shots per match and score 1.55 goals per match. Northeastern State is led by Carter Adams, who has seven goals on the season to go along with an assist.
