Tiger Volleyball Trio Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors for 2025

Fort Hays State had three members of its volleyball team receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for the 2025 season. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
 
Earning the honor for FHSU Volleyball this year were Kirsten Evans, Carsyn Cormaney, and Peyton Bergschneider. Evans is now a two-time selection after earning the honor last year, while Cormaney and Bergschneider collected the honor for the first time.
 
To be considered for Academic All-District selection, an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and compete in 90 percent of the team's contests or start at least 66 percent of contests at the time of nomination.
 
Evans was the team's primary libero for the second-straight year, playing in all 29 matches. She earned an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection in 2025. Evans was the team leader in digs with 405, averaging 3.86 per set. She had a .952 reception percentage and led the team in service aces for the third-straight year with 34. She ranked eighth in the MIAA in total digs and ninth in digs per set. She finished her career with 1,124 digs over four seasons, posting over 400 each of the last two years. Evans is a four-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. The Ottawa, Kansas native had a 3.73 cumulative GPA as a Marketing major at the time of selection.
 
Cormaney played in all 29 matches for the Tigers in 2025 and started 26. She had 141 kills, averaging 1.44 per set, a .171 attack percentage, and ranked third on the team in blocks with 63. She produced 176.5 points for the season. She is a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. The Colorado Springs native had a 3.55 cumulative GPA as a Tourism and Hospitality Management major at the time of selection.
 
Bergschneider was a key addition to the Tigers in 2025 after two years at Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois. She played in 28 matches and started 20 for the Tigers, producing 157 kills, 199 digs, 24 blocks, and 17 service aces. She averaged 1.78 kills per set and 2.26 digs per set and produced 186 points for the season. A native of Springfield, Illinois, she held a 3.75 cumulative GPA as a Agriculture major at the time of selection.
