The seventh-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team wraps up an in-state road trip Saturday (Feb. 15) when the Tigers take on the Newman Jets in Wichita. First tip is slated for 1:30 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium.

Fort Hays State picked up its eighth-straight win on Thursday, defeating Emporia State 70-52 to move to 21-2 on the year and 12-2 in MIAA action. This is the 14th season in a row that the Tigers have reached 20 wins, the longest active streak in Division II and tied for fifth-longest across all NCAA divisions.
Now with 1,797 career points,
Olivia Hollenbeck climbed into fourth on the all-time scoring list at FHSU on Thursday. The Tigers currently have two of the four best scorers in program history on the roster, with
Katie Wagner DeGarmo second with 2,102 points in her career.
Brooke Loewe dished out six more assists in the win over the Lady Hornets, giving the junior 159 assists on the season. That total is second-most in a single season in program history and is just seven away from tying the school record of 166 assists in a season (Kristi Leeper-Meis, 1990-91). Loewe ranks second in DII in total assists and is fourth in the country with an average of 7.2 assists per game.
The Tigers added another double-digit win on Thursday, FHSU's 19th win by 10 or more points this season. Eleven of those wins have been by 20 or more points, helping the Tigers to a scoring margin of plus-18.6 which ranks ninth in Division II.
FHSU also ranks second in the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.40), third in assists per game (19.0), ninth in field goal percentage (46.0) and ninth in winning percentage (.913).
Bailey Wilborn knocked down a trio of 3-pointers in Thursday's win in Emporia, doing so for a team-best third time this season. The senior transfer has hit seven of her last 15 attempts from behind the arc over the last five games (46.7 percent).
Kate Dilsaver scored in double figures for the 13th time this season against the Lady Hornets. She is averaging 9.3 points per night as a senior after putting up an average of 4.1 points per contest in her first three seasons as a Tiger.
Fort Hays State is 26-1 all-time against Newman, including wins in each of the last 16 meetings. That is FHSU's longest active winning streak against a current MIAA rival. The Tigers are 10-1 against the Jets in Wichita. FHSU is 2-0 against Newman under head coach
Talia Kahrs, including a 1-0 record on the road. The Tigers are 10-0 against the Jets in MIAA regular season matchups.
Newman is 7-17 this season, including a 5-7 mark at home this season. The Jets lead the conference with an average of 4.4 blocks per night, 20th-most in Division II, however they are last in the MIAA in both scoring (57.4 ppg) and scoring margin (-10.4). Delainey Wylie is second in the league with an average of 2.00 blocks per game, ranking 21st in the nation. Jaeden McMillin leads the team in both scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg). She is 12th in the conference in rebounds.
Looking ahead, the Tigers will return to Gross Memorial Coliseum to play its next three games at home beginning Thursday, February 20 when they host Missouri Southern at 5:30 p.m. The homestand continues next Saturday, February 22 at 2 p.m. with Senior Day against Pittsburg State.
