Fort Hays State to Host 2025 MIAA Tournament, Tigers are No. 9 Seed

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State University will be the site of the 2025 MIAA Softball Championship Tournament, set for April 30 through May 3 at Fleharty Family Field in Hays, Kansas. Fort Hays State earned the No. 9 seed for the tournament and will face No. 8 seed Emporia State on the first day of competition, Wednesday Apr. 30, at 3 p.m.

Fort Hays State had to win its final game of the regular season to punch its ticket into the 10-team single elimination tournament. The Tigers finished in a three-way tie for ninth in the conference standings with Nebraska-Kearney and Northwest Missouri State. FHSU and UNK both qualified for the tournament, while NWMSU fell short in the tiebreaker procedure applied to the tie.

The first day of the tournament features matchups of the No. 8 vs. No. 9 seeds and No. 7 vs. 10 seeds. Day two features the most games with all four quarterfinal matchups after the winners of first-day contests fill in the quarterfinal matchups against the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. Day three features the two semifinal games and then day four will be the championship game for the automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Fort Hays State split its regular season doubleheader with Emporia State in Emporia. The winner of the FHSU vs. ESU game will face the No. 1 seed Central Oklahoma, the MIAA regular season champions. Fort Hays State seeks its first MIAA Tournament title since the 2013 season. Rogers State is the defending champion of the tournament and holds the No. 3 seed in this year's event.

Tickets are available online for purchase, which includes an All-Tournament pass that covers all nine games of the championship tournament. Tournament games will be available to watch on The MIAA Network via subscription. Live stats will be available for all games as well.
