NORMAN, Okla. - The Fort Hays State men's golf team has been named a recipient of the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, announced Tuesday (Aug. 5) by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

This award, given to just 52 schools in NCAA Division II and a total of 292 programs across six divisions of collegiate golf this season, recognizes programs that completed the most recent academic year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.

The 10 members of the 2024-25 squad combined for a team GPA of 3.138. Seven of the 10 were listed on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, including
Ben Deges,
Jacob George,
Parker Krob,
Jordan McCaslin,
Jackson Rader,
Cooper Scheck and
Cole Streck. Scheck also received the MIAA Academic Excellence Award and the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award.

George, Krob, McCaslin and Scheck were all CSC Academic All-District selections, with Scheck going on to earn second team Academic All-America recognition.

Additionally, George, Krob, Scheck and Streck were all named GCAA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.

The Tigers were one of three programs in the MIAA to receive the honor alongside Northeastern State and Rogers State.
