HAYS, Kan. - The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team fell to second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney by a score of 39-4 Friday evening (Feb. 13) inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.
Â
The Lopers (14-4, 4-1 MIAA) jumped in front 11-0 after taking the first two matchups before
Kolton Field got the Tigers (3-9, 1-3 MIAA) on the board at 141. The junior racked up four takedowns in the match, including one in the first period, two in the second and another in the third to post a 15-4 major decision.
UNK bounced back after that, taking the next seven bouts to secure the win. The Lopers were docked a point due to unsportsmanlike conduct after the 197-pound matchup, bringing the final tally to 39-4.
