ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Fort Hays State Tennis fell to Missouri Western on Friday (Apr. 17) by a score of 7-0. The Tigers only had five players available for the match, so the Griffons took a doubles contest and a singles contest by forfeit. FHSU moved to 8-8 overall and 0-6 in the MIAA, while the No. 40 ranked Griffons moved to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the MIAA.
The Griffons took both doubles contests that were played by scores of 6-2. They took all five singles matches contested in straight sets, with all game results ending either 6-0 or 6-2.
Molly Gaddis (No. 2) and
Diana Souza (No. 5) generated the most games won of any Tigers in singles play. They both fell by scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Bethan Gill (No. 1) won two games in her second set, as did
Janae Montoya at the No. 3 position.
Ines Steeman fell 6-0, 6-0 in her contest at No. 4.
