LUBBOCK, Texas — The 25
th-ranked Fort Hays State men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Lubbock Christian on Saturday (Sept. 12). The Tigers moved to 2-1-2 overall for the season, while the Chaparrals moved to 2-3-1 overall.
Fort Hays State recorded 16 of its 18 shots in the second half, following a scoreless first half between the teams. Lubbock Christian broke the stalemate with a goal by Alex Lachevre in the 73
rd minute, but just two minutes later in the 75
th minute the Tigers leveled the game at 1-1 on a

Juan Linares. It was Valkema's third goal of the season.
With the Tigers constantly firing shots in the second half, Lubbock Christian goalkeeper Milo Paci had to make nine saves to help his team to a draw. FHSU goalkeeper
Payton Roehrich made two saves in the match.
The Tigers will continue to work with West Texas A&M on figuring out a date to finish the suspended match from Thursday (Sept. 10), which sits scoreless just over 50 minutes into the match.
Fort Hays State will open GAC/MIAA play on Thursday evening (Sept. 17) when it plays host to Rogers State at 7 p.m. in Hays, Kan. Rogers State is ranked No. 9 in the latest national poll.
