Fort Hays State Men's Soccer continues Great American Conference play this week, heading on the road to Arkansas where it will face Harding on Thursday (Sept. 24) and Ouachita Baptist on Saturday (Sept. 26). The No. 14 ranked Tigers enter the week 4-1-2 overall and 2-0 in the GAC.

Six-Straight Wins Over Harding
Fort Hays State has won six-straight matches against Harding going back to the 2023 season. The Tigers scored at least 4 goals in the last five contests. FHSU holds an 18-2 advantage in the all-time series with Harding.
 
Five-Straight Wins Over Ouachita Baptist
Fort Hays State has won five-straight meetings with Ouachita Baptist going back to 2023. The Tigers scored at least 3 goals in all five of those matches. FHSU holds a 10-0-3 advantage in the all-time series with Ouachita Baptist.
 
Good Start to Conference Play
Fort Hays State is off to a 2-0 start in conference play after defeating Rogers State and Northeastern State in Hays last week. Ranked No. 22 nationally at the time, the Tigers turned away a No. 12 ranked Rogers State squad 2-0, then held on for a 2-1 win over Northeastern State. FHSU and Southern Nazarene were the only teams in the GAC to start 2-0 in the first week of conference play.
 
Up to No. 14 in the Latest National Poll
Fort Hays State moved up eight spots to No. 14 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Tigers have been in the Top 25 of every poll so far this season, which includes the preseason and four regular season polls. This is the second time this year they have held the No. 14 ranking.
 
Players of the Week
FHSU has claimed two more GAC Player of the Week honors on Tuesday (Sept. 22). Juan Linares was the Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal in each Tiger win last week, while Payton Roehrich picked up Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second time this season with a 0.50 goals against average and 6 saves for the week. FHSU now has four GAC Player of the Week honors so far this season. Francisco Degiorgi was the Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1, and Payton Roehrich claimed Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 8. Roehrich now has four GAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors in his career, while Linares has three Offensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Valkema and Linares Lead in Points
Forward Len Valkema and midfielder Juan Linares are the team leaders in points so far this season, both with 8. They also lead all players in the GAC in points. Valkema has all eight points on four goals, while Linares has three goals and two assists.
 
Multiple Assists
Francisco Degiorgi and Juan Linares lead the Tigers in assists this season, each with two. Scott Dillon and Gregoire Henri have the other two helpers this season.
 
Strong Between the Pipes
Payton Roehrich continues to produce strong numbers in goal. He holds a 0.58 goals against average for the season and an .826 save percentage. He is among the top 25 nationally in each categories.
 
Nichols Closing in on 200
Alex Nichols is in his third season leading FHSU. He holds an overall record of 199-44-24, now in his 13th season as a head coach at the collegiate level. His next win will be his 200^th as a head collegiate men's soccer coach.

Harding
-The Bisons are 0-7 overall this season and 0-1 in GAC play. They have been held scoreless in four of seven matches so far this season.
-Zech Christman is the team leader in points with 3 (1 goal, 1 assist).
-Three different players have seen action at goalkeeper this season. Dillon Hart leads Harding in save percentage (.704), while Andrew Wagenblatt leads in saves (22).
-Thom Jacquet is in his first season as head coach at Harding.
 
Ouachita Baptist
-The Tigers are 3-2-1 overall and 0-1 in GAC play so far.
-Philip Bolk leads OBU in points with 5 (2 goals, 1 assist).
-Two individuals have split time at goalkeeper as Isaac Murie holds an .833 save percentage and Landon Summers leads OBU in saves with 7.
-Wes Holifield is in his third season leading OBU with an overall record of 12-24-6.
