Boyd Peterson enters his second year as an assistant football coach at Fort Hays State University in 2018. He will help coach running backs for a second straight year.
Peterson helped coach running back Kenneth Iheme to All-America Honorable Mention honors by the Don Hansen Football Committee and All-MIAA First Team honors in 2017. Iheme finished the season with 1,380 rushing yards and 1,690 all-purpose yards, while being one of 34 candidates considered for the Harlon Hill Trophy (Division II Player of the Year). He also helped the Tigers to an 11-1 record overall, going undefeated in the regular season to win the MIAA Championship.
Peterson was a member of the Ripon College football team for two years as a running back. He eventually became a student assistant coach at Ripon in 2016, assisting with the defense.
A native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Peterson graduated from Ripon (Wisc.) College in 2017.
