Jerrod Stanford

    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Jerrod Stanford is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Fort Hays State men’s basketball team.

In 2013-14, Stanford served as associate head coach at Lane College in Tennessee. He returns to the Tiger staff this year after serving as an assistant for two years from 2011-2013.
    
Stanford came to Fort Hays State from Union College in Barbourville, Ky., where he was an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team in 2010-11. He helped guide the team to a conference tournament championship and a berth to the NAIA Division II national tournament. It was the first national tournament berth for the school in 42 years. Stanford also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, defensive coordinator, and head junior varsity coach.
    
Prior to his time at Union College, Stanford was the head coach at Spearville High School in Spearville, Kan. from 2008 to 2010, where he led the school to a 40-7 record in two years. His 2009-10 team reached the No. 1 ranking in Class 2A and the school won consecutive league titles under Stanford’s guidance.
    
Stanford began his coaching career at Sterling College in Sterling, Kan., where he served as an assistant coach for the women’s team from 2006 to 2008. He was the team’s recruiting coordinator and head junior varsity coach. In 2006-07, he helped guide Sterling to the KCAC regular season championship and an NAIA Division II National Tournament berth. In 2007-08, he helped the Warriors repeat as conference regular season champions and secure the conference tournament championship.
    
Stanford is a native of St. John, Kan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Sterling College in 2008.
