Todd Johnston enters his fourth year as an assistant coach for the Fort Hays State Men's Basketball program in 2022-23. He came to Fort Hays State from Cloud County (Kan.) Community College in Concordia, Kansas, where he was an assistant for two years.
In his two seasons at Cloud County Community College, Johnston helped the men's basketball program to a 10-win improvement in his second year and helped five players move on to four-year colleges over his two seasons. Prior to his time at Cloud County, Johnston served as an assistant coach at Missouri Southern for one year (2014-15) and Benedictine College for two years (2015-17).
A native of Kincaid, Kansas, Johnston played collegiately at Cloud County Community College for two years and then Baker University for two years, where he received bachelor's degrees in Secondary Education and History. Johnston averaged 10 points per game his senior year at Baker and helped the program to an appearance in the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Tournament in his junior season.
