Luca Anelli is in his second season as a Fort Hays State men’s soccer assistant coach in 2019. In his first season, he helped FHSU to a 17-2-2 record, an MIAA Championship, NCAA Central Region Championship, and appearance in the national semifinals.
Prior to FHSU, Anelli played four seasons as a forward at Newman University from 2013-2016. While at Newman, Anelli scored 25 goals and collected 10 assists. Anelli led the Jets with five goals his freshman season. He ranked second in the conference in goal with nine in his junior season. Anelli was selected as an All-Heartland Conference performer all four seasons, while earning All-Region Honors two years. After playing four seasons with the Jets, Anelli assisted Coach Cliff Brown as a student assistant for Newman Men's soccer team in 2017.
Anelli played at Preston North End Youth Academy, spent time at Blackpool FC and Morecambe FC. Played 3 years for NPSL team FC Wichita winning two conference titles under Larry Inlow and Steve Ralos.
