Petra Poznic

    Graduate Assistant Track and Field Coach
Petra Poznic begins her first year as a graduate assistant in the track & field program at Fort Hays State University. She will assist with many facets of the program although her primary focus will be on the pole vault and sprint crew.  She is also a graduate assistant teacher in the Health & Human Performance department as she works on a master's degree in Movement and Sport Studies.

Poznic competed for Southeastern Louisiana University, in Hammond, La., from 2008-2012.  She competed as a pole vaulter until and injury changed her career route to that of a javelin thrower.  She was an All-Southland Conference selection in the javelin.  She has personal bests of 43.41 meters in the javelin and 3.65 meters in the pole vault.

Poznic is a native of Velenje, Slovenia.  She placed in the top three at the Slovenia national meet 16 times in the pole vault, javelin, shot put and heptathlon.  She was also a member of the national junior team and national Under-23 team.
