Paige Lunsford

Paige Lunsford is entering her seventh season as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Fort Hays State University in 2025-26. Lunsford also served as a graduate assistant from 2017-19 after playing four years under former head coach Tony Hobson from 2012-16.

The Tigers have qualified for the NCAA Central Regional in seven of the eight years that Lunsford has been on the coaching staff, including three trips to the postseason as the top overall seed in the region. FHSU has won five MIAA titles with Lunsford as an assistant or graduate assistant, including three regular season championships and two tournament titles.

As a player, she earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors as a senior while being named to the MIAA All-Defensive Team the same year. She was a part of 98 wins in her four years as a Tiger. Lunsford helped FHSU to its first MIAA Regular Season Championship in 2014-15, reaching the NCAA Tournament twice while advancing to the Central Regional Final of the in 2014-15.

Lunsford appeared in 114 games during her four-year career as a Tiger, missing just nine contests during that stretch. She played in 94 straight games over the last three years of her career, including starting all 65 games during her junior and senior seasons. Lunsford scored 598 points in her career, adding 390 rebounds, 143 assists, 90 steals and 31 blocks. She led the team with a 50.7 shooting percentage as a senior. Lunsford scored a career-high 22 points twice in a two-week span as a senior (1/16/16 vs UCO, 1/30/16 at UNK).

Lunsford is a native of Hays, Kan., where she helped Hays High School to a league championship as a senior. The guard was named first team all-state that year, also earning Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors. She is a two-time graduate of Fort Hays State University, completing a master’s degree in Health and Human Performance in 2019.
