Alex Hagan JCCC 2026

Alex Hagan

Alex Hagan enters his first season as head coach of the Fort Hays State women's soccer program in 2026. He brings in nine seasons of experience as a collegiate women's soccer coach, both as a head coach and assistant coach.

Hagan came to Fort Hays State from Johnson County (Kan.) Community College and is the fourth head coach in FHSU women’s soccer program history. He served as the assistant coach at Johnson County the previous four years under long-time head coach Jim Schwab. Johnson County has consistently been one of the top junior college programs nationally during Schwab’s tenure. Alongside Schwab, Hagan helped guide the Cavaliers to a 66-17-7 record in his four seasons, including three-straight seasons of 18 or more wins from 2023 through 2025. Johnson County was the NJCAA national runner-up in both 2023 and 2024. Hagan was an integral part of Johnson County’s staff being named 2024 NJCAA D-II National Coaching Staff of the Year by United Soccer Coaches, as well as the regional staff of the year in 2023.

Hagan helped guide Johnson County to three-straight conference titles (2023, 2024, 2025) and two NJCAA Division II national title game appearances (2023, 2024). Over four seasons, Hagan helped coach nine NJCAA D-II All-Americans, six United Soccer Coaches All-Americans, one United Soccer Coaches D-II National Player of the Year, four NJCAA D-II All-Tournament selections, 26 All-Region 6 selections, 28 All-KJCCC selections including two Defensive Players of the Year and one Offensive Player of the Year.

Prior to his time at Johnson County Community College, Hagan served as the head women’s soccer coach at Bethel College in Kansas for five seasons. He took over the Threshers in 2017 and turned a struggling program into a competitor as they made the KCAC Tournament in each of his last two seasons, finishing as high as fifth in the conference. Hagan notched 28 wins over his five seasons leading Bethel, guiding 11 student-athletes to All-KCAC honors.

Hagan’s teams were also very involved with community service at Bethel. The KCAC women’s soccer coaches recognized these acts by naming Bethel’s women’s program as the Team of Character two times during Hagan’s tenure, while earning the KCAC All-Sport Team of Character in 2018.

Prior to his first head coaching role, Hagan served as an assistant for the Bethel men’s program in both 2015 and 2016. As a player, Hagan was a four-year starter for the Bethel men’s soccer team from 2012-15, serving as the team’s captain three years and leading the Threshers in goals scored each of his four years as a player.

Hagan and his wife Madison have two daughters, Jensyn and Maeve.
