Mark Nowak joined the Fort Hays State University women’s soccer staff as an Assistant Coach in August 2019.
Prior to his time with the Tigers, Nowak started his own goalkeeper training company, Gorilla Goalkeeping, coaching players from the age of six up to the Semi-Pro level. He coached supplemental training for Premier League Champion, Christian Fuch’s, Fox Soccer Academy, Beestera Soccer Training and Coerver Coaching. In addition, he directed the Intramural program at SUNY New Paltz, growing the program from 45 students to 450 within seven months.
Nowak played four years of collegiate soccer at the Division III level for New England College and the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz. During his two year career at New England College, he played almost 1,400 minutes allowing only 15 goals, recording eight shutouts. In one season at SUNY New Paltz, he registered a .923 save percentage allowing just one goal in over 434 minutes of play.
He has obtained his USSF D License with US Soccer and Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma through United Soccer Coaches.
A native of Newburgh, New York, Nowak earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2017 and is currently working towards his master’s in Health and Human Performance at Fort Hays State.
