Carolynne Barbosa is in her fifth season with the Fort Hays State volleyball team in 2025. This is her third season as assistant coach after serving as a graduate assistant for two years.
The Tigers have earned 13Â All-MIAA awards during Barbosa's time with the team.
Barbosa was an All-American and a national champion at Lindsey Wilson College, where she played from 2015-17 with the Blue Raiders. She was an NAIA honorable mention All-American selection as a sophomore in addition to a pair of AVCA all-region honors and two first team All Mid-South Conference selections. Academic honors included NAIA Scholar-Athlete status as a senior and two Academic All-Mid-South Conference awards. Barbosa helped LWC to three conference titles, three conference tournament titles and a national championship to cap off her senior season in 2017.

The middle blocker played in 83 matches in her career, totaling 466 kills (1.9 kills per set), 228 blocks, 76 digs and an attack percentage of .351. She ranks fourth in team history in attack percentage and sixth in blocks per set at 0.93.
Barbosa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lindsey Wilson College in 2018 with a degree in human services and counseling before completing a master's degree in health and human performance from Fort Hays State University in 2023.
