Crystal Foss

    Assistant Volleyball Coach

Crystal Foss is in her third season as an assistant coach for the Fort Hays State volleyball team. She came to Fort Hays State in 2012 from Friends University, where she was a student assistant coach for one year.
 
Foss helped guide Fort Hays State to a 23-14 record in 2012, the first 20-win season for the program since 2004 and third-highest win total in the program's NCAA Division II history.  In her two seasons with the Tigers, FHSU has compiled a 37-33 record with five individuals earning eight All-Conference honors.
 
In addition to her assistant coach role at Friends for a year, Foss was head coach for the Raider Nation Volleyball Club based in the Wichita, Kan., area for three years, coaching the 12’s in 2009-10, the 14’s in 2010-11, and the 16’s in 2011-12.
 
Foss played her final two years of collegiate volleyball at Friends University in Wichita, Kan. She was a libero/defensive specialist, helping the Falcons to a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship in 2010 and conference tournament championship in 2009. She played on two Friends teams that made the NAIA National Tournament.
 
Prior to her two seasons at Friends, Foss played for two years at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College from 2007 to 2008. She was the starting libero for the 2008 team that made the NJCAA National Tournament.
 
A native of Shawnee, Kan., Foss earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/Teacher Education at Friends University in 2012.  She earned of a Master’s of Science in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State in 2014.
