A former All-American at St. Cloud State University, Sam Spencer begins his second season as a men's wrestling graduate assistant in 2025-26.
A native of Huntley, Ill., Spencer competed for five seasons with the Huskies at SCSU in St. Cloud, Minn. He earned All-American status as a senior in 2025, finishing sixth at the national championships at 133 pounds after claiming the Super Region V championship. He was a two-time All-NSIC second team selection, finishing with a career record of 52-19 including a 27-7 mark in 2024-25.
Spencer was a four-time state qualifier at Huntley High School, reaching the podium three times. He placed fifth as a senior and sophomore while placing eighth as a junior at the IHSA Class 3A State tournament.
