Bethany Williams begins her first season as assistant cross country/track and field coach at Fort Hays State University in 2026.
Williams joins the Tiger squad after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. She assisted in all aspects of the Huskies cross country/track and field program, including coaching, logistics, operations, recruiting and more. Prior to her time at NIU, Williams also coached at Loughborough University in Loughborough, England and with the Mansfield Harriers Athletic Club.
Williams ran collegiately for the University of Central Florida in Orlando, competing for three seasons between 2017 and 2020. She was a co-captain of the cross country team, representing her teammates in program decisions and helping build team culture. Williams was listed on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team multiple times in her career. She also represented her home country of England in several national and international competitions, recording a lifetime best 2:10.13 in the 800m.
A native of Ollerton, England, Williams graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences in 2021. She later completed a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology at Loughborough University in 2023 before earning a second master’s in sports management at Northern Illinois University in 2026.
