Hunter Brown enters his fourth year as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State in 2026. He spent his first two years as a graduate assistant and will coach the defensive secondary for a third-straight year. He also serves as the team's coordinator of camps.
Fort Hays State has seen eight defensive backs earn All-MIAA honors in Brown's time as an assistant. Both Mason Perez and Kobe Rome were two-time selections within his time on the sideline. Michael Polley and Matthew McBride were the latest Tigers to receive all-conference honors under Brown's guidance in 2025.
Brown was a member of the football team at Fort Hays State for five years from 2018 to 2022. He played in 31 games throughout his career, finishing with 34 tackles and a pair of interceptions as a defensive back. He earned his degree in Health and Human Performance at FHSU with an emphasis in teaching and coaching.
