Marcos German enters his first year as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State. German completed his collegiate career as a player at Fort Hays State in 2024, helping the team to a 13-4-4 record, GAC Tournament Championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
German was a standout performer in his one season at Fort Hays State, earning a D2CCA All-America Third Team selection as a defender. He was also an All-GAC First Team performer.
A native of Madrid, Spain, German played four seasons at Central Methodist University, where he was a prominent figure in one of the most dominant eras of the program’s history. He helped CMU win back-to-back NAIA National Championships in 2018 and 2019, earning Defensive Player of the Tournament and All-Tournament Team honors during the first title run. The team also reached the national semifinals in both 2020 and 2021.
During his career at CMU, German helped the program capture four Heart of America regular season titles and three Heart of America Conference Tournament championships. Individually, he was a three-time all-conference first team selection, two-time Heart of America Conference Defensive Player of the Year, one-time Heart of America Conference Player of the Year, and a two-time NAIA All-America First Team selection. He holds the program record for most assists in a career with 40, including the season record (16) and single-game record (4), while adding 23 goals scored over his four years.
German graduated from Central Methodist in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science and worked as a backend developer with Airbus before returning to the field at FHSU. He is currently working on his MBA in Information Systems at Fort Hays State University.
