Fort Hays State junior defensive lineman Jesse Trent has been named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America Team for 2013, his second straight year to earn the honor. Trent was named to the second team for the second year in a row. He was just one of eight defensive linemen in NCAA Division II named to the Academic All-America Team.

Trent is a Biology major from Dodge City, Kan. Entering the 2013 fall semester, Trent held a GPA of 3.98. Trent started all 11 games for the Tigers in 2013 on the defensive line and tied for eighth on the team in tackles with 41. He had seven tackles for loss and a half sack to his credit, helping the Tigers to a 6-5 record for their first winning season since 2009. He has started 22 consecutive games for FHSU dating back to the start of his sophomore year of 2012.
