Haley Bowser earned Athlete of the Week honors for her performance in the FHSU Quad meet on Saturday (April 7). Bowser was the individual champion in the pole vault and her Tiger team finished second in the four-team field.
Bowser, a freshman from Chandler, Ariz., won the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 7.75 inches, which is a provisional qualifying mark and is 18th-best in the country in Division II this season. The mark gave her the win by two inches over Kaelie Jelden of Chadron State.
The Tigers as a team won six events and placed second in nine events, finishing second as a team with 183 points. Pittsburg State won the quad with a score of 205.
The Tigers travel to CSU-Pueblo next Saturday (April 14) for the CSU-Pueblo Invitational in Pueblo, Colo.
